Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to join our Project Finance team, with a focus on power and utility sector projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will manage and lead financial advisory engagements, specializing in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) transactions, Independent Power Projects (IPPs), and Independent Water Projects (IWPs, IWPPs, ISTPs). You will be responsible for end-to-end financial structuring, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring the seamless delivery of financial solutions tailored to government and private sector clients.

This role demands advanced skills in financial modelling, risk analysis, and transaction management to address the unique challenges of the power and utilities industry. You will also oversee junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional experts to provide comprehensive project advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of business cases, financial models, and procurement documentation for PPP, IPP, and IWPP projects in the power and utility sectors.
  • Manage transaction processes from initial structuring to commercial and financial close of complex utility projects.
  • Oversee the development and validation of financial models, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices in power and utility markets.
  • Conduct due diligence, feasibility studies, and risk assessments, with a focus on financial structuring and funding strategies for power infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with legal, tax, and technical experts to structure bankable solutions tailored to clients' objectives in power generation, water treatment, and energy infrastructure.
  • Lead client engagements, ensuring effective communication and the delivery of high-quality financial advisory services.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, proposals, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior government officials and private sector executives.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities within the power and utilities sector, contributing to the firm's growth strategy.
  • Mentor and manage junior team members to build a high-performing project finance team.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and investment opportunities in the power, energy, and utility sectors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 6 years of experience in project finance or transaction advisory with a focus on power and utility sector projects (e.g., IPPs, IWPs, IWPPs, ISTPs, transmission projects).
  • Proven ability to develop and manage complex financial models for large-scale infrastructure projects, including PPPs and private finance initiatives.
  • Experience leading financial close processes and managing stakeholders in power and utility transactions.
  • Proficiency in financial structuring, debt management, and capital markets instruments relevant to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of project finance documentation and agreements (including power and water sector payment mechanisms) with confirmed experience supporting negotiation financial workstreams and drafting contract terms.
  • Advanced analytical skills with expertise in risk management and regulatory frameworks for the power sector.
  • CFA, MBA, or equivalent degree in finance, accounting, or economics is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in English (Arabic proficiency is highly desirable).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects effectively.
