Manager – Technical accounting desk (Department of Professional Practice)
KPMG Saudi Levant Cluster is looking to hire for a permanent opportunity (based out in Riyadh/Khobar) to work with our technical accounting desk handling complex accounting and reporting matters.
Skills/Experience requirements:
- A qualified accountant (CA/ACCA /CPA)
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting advisory and audits preferably obtained in a “Big 4” environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting in accordance with IFRS/IFRS for SMEs and auditing in accordance with ISAs.
- Should possess strong communication and presentation skills including writing and verbal skills in English.
- Prior experience of working with technical desk will be considered a plus.
Key responsibilities:
Informal queries/ Walk-ins / Formal Consultations

- Provides considered, timely and technically appropriate responses on complex technical accounting and reporting issues.
- Exercises professional scepticism.
- Coaches engagement teams and DPP team members through technical issues.
- Shares knowledge and key learnings with relevant DPP team members.

Pre-issuance reviews
|
- Participates in the Pre-issuance review of the financial statements each reporting period.
- Provides considered and timely feedback on review findings ensuring conversations are held directly with engagement teams, including how findings were resolved.
- Consult with engagement teams and within DPP on areas of uncertainty.
- Shares knowledge on common issues and finding with broader DPP.

Monitoring and Quality Initiatives

- Proactively considers whether interactions with teams (via projects, consultations, pre-issuance reviews, support networks or other) highlight areas of common technical deficiencies and how these can be best addressed.
- Keeps abreast of latest technical developments, including network and local guidance and considers training needs of business.
- Develops training or tools based on business needs. Aims to leverage global training materials where available and appropriate.
- Participates in the delivery/facilitation of training or communication of tools through appropriate mediums.
- Monitor local regulatory and professional developments and consider their impact on the Audit, financial statements. Inform and provide input on the impact of such developments to DPP/Audit leadership.

DPP Bulletin, alerts, publications
|
- Contribute to the local DPP Bulletin (or equivalent publications), DPP alerts, FAQs by suggesting or drafting timely articles on technical topics or based on recent consultations, pre issuance reviews or training experiences.
- Reads all local and International DPP bulletin articles (or equivalent publications) on a timely basis and promote relevant articles to engagement teams where appropriate.
